PARAMEDIC PROGRAM

The BCEMS Paramedic program is a comprehensive learning program that, covers all training aspects of treating emergencies. The program utilizes a mix of independent and team learning, case studies, hands-on labs, and simulations. The curriculum is based on the U.S. Department of Transportation National Standards Curriculum and standards and guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in the Emergency Medical Services Professions. The program prepares graduates for entry-level paramedic positions. Completion of the course allows the students that are eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians examination for the EMT-Paramedic.

Admission Requirements

Undisciplined Missouri EMT-B at the time of application
Preferred one year experience as an EMT but not required.
BLS CPR
Criminal background check
Drug screen
High School Diploma or GED
Vaccinations

Schedule

Class meets Monday and Wednesday from 0800-1630
January - November
Next Class Schedule to start Jan 8, 2024
At this time Anatomy and Physiology run concurrent with the program
Options for shift friendly class schedule maybe possible

Clinical Requirement

The clinical requirement for the class is a minimum of 500 hours clinical hours.
A minimum of 250 in the hospital and 250 in the ambulance.
Ambulance clinical time includes capstone time.
Clinical locations include Mosaic Life Care Hospital, Cameron Regional Medical Center, Buchanan County EMS.

Cost

Non-refundable $100.00 due with application
Fees/Tuition: $7,500.00
This includes Textbooks, Platinum Education Fees, lab equipment, shirt, insurance, ACLS, PALS, CPR, Drug screening, and Background Checks.
This does not include National Registry Paramedic Exams.
Payment Plans can be set up upon acceptance to the program

CoAEMSP Letter of Review

The REMSA-Buchanan County EMS Paramedic Program holds a Letter of Review, which is NOT a CAAHEP accreditation status, but is a status granted by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) signifying that a program seeking initial accreditation has demonstrated sufficient compliance with the accreditation Standards through the Letter of Review Self Study Report (LSSR) and other documentation. However, it is NOT a guarantee of eventual accreditation.
